(KPLR) I brought my chair to the bank because I thought I would be making a big deposit.

That's because I won $800,000 the other day.  I figured the mortgage would be taken care of, my daughter could go to any college she wants and for the first time in my life I could have my own rainy day fund.

Then came the bad news.  All I had to do was send someone with the FBI a $300 processing fee so my winnings could be released.

Here's a copy of the email sent to me.  It's not really from the FBI, instead it's a common scam and the sad thing is its common because it works.

I sent the letter to the FBI to see if they could track down the thieves.

I hope they do.  But the only way these scams will ever stop is if they stop working.

So if you ever receive a letter saying you won something; please don't fall for it.  If the Feds can't stop a scam like this, then maybe we can.

I'm JB and that's The Way It Oughta Be.
