Students Recovering After Bus Accident

CENTRAL WEST END (KTVI) – The most seriously injured in Tuesday school bus accident in Washington County are recovering. Hospital officials say four children are in satisfactory condition after being airlifted to St. Louis Children’s Hospital Tuesday afternoon.

Two girls, ages 13 and 7 and two boys ages 8 and 13 were all taken by helicopter after their school bus flipped over on Highway C near Belgrade, Missouri. That’s about 90 miles south of St. Louis.

Eight other students were transported on the ground.  They were said to have minor injuries. About 15 to 20 kids were on the bus from the Valley R-6 School District. Parents say they’re hearing the driver may have been distracted by unruly kids.
