ST. PETERS, MO (KTVI) - An early-morning accident sent four people to the hospital early Friday morning and alcohol may be to blame.  St. Peters police say the woman was driving the wrong way on St. Peters Parkway when the crash happened. It shut down part of the parkway for several hours.   Police got the call around 12:45 a.m.

Four cars crashed near Highway 94 and Jungermann Road. Officers say a woman in her 40s was driving a Silverado pick-up east in the westbound lanes.  She slammed head-on into a woman driving a Dodge Nitro.

Two other cars, a Mustang and an Acura, crashed behind them.  Officers say Central County firefighters had to cut two people from the cars.  Two drivers were taken to St. John's Mercy Hospital. One suffered minor injuries, the other had serious injuries.

Two other people were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Charles with minor and moderate injuries. The wrong-way driver may face drunk driving charges.
