Chesterfield police are searching for a gunman who forced his way into the home of a jeweler as the man’s small children slept.

This happened late Thursday night in a condo complex just down from Woods Hill road.

Police tell us the robber apparently knew the victim worked in jewelry, and knew where he lived.  He may have even followed him home from work at some point.

The robber was waiting in the garage adjacent to a courtyard area where the family enters their home. When the victim arrived he burst out and put a gun to the man’s head.

The intruder stole all the jewelry inn the home, right down to the couples wedding rings.  But no one was hurt. In fact the two year old and the five year old slept through the whole thing.

Police are looking for a white male, about 5 foot ten to six feet, 160 to 180 pounds.  He’s 35 to 45 years old and was last seen wearing a black ski mask, a camouflage jacket and baggy jeans.

If you have any information contact Chesterfield police or Crimestoppers.  A $5,000 reward is being offered.
