Let the festivities begin! The annual Soulard Mardi Gras celebration and parade take place this weekend.  Thousands of people have been waiting, but there are some things you need to know before you go.

Make sure you take a look at the parade map before you head to Soulard. It starts at 11:00 am. just south of Busch Stadium at 7th and Cerre. It will proceed south on 7th to Choteau, east on Choteau to Broadway, then south on Broadway until the 7th Street merge. It will finally continue south on 7th until it ends on Sydney.

There is no parking along the parade route and any cars parked there will be towed. There is basically no parking in Soulard for Mardi Gras unless you are a resident.  Organizers say there is plenty of parking downtown.

Organizers are also encouraging people to use Metrolink and Metro buses. Huge crowds are expected and the weather is expected to cooperate.
