One man died after a shooting early Thursday morning in the Soulard neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri.  Residents of a nearby loft building woke to find their street covered in police officers and paramedics.
This all happened right next door to the Soulard Market Lofts.  A man was shot in the chest just in front of Franco Restaurant.  St. Louis Metropolitan Police got the call for help at 2:40 Thursday morning.
Shea Boyle said he was sleep, but heard a commotion.  Boyle woke up and then heard six to eight shots.  When he looked out of his window, he saw a man lying on the sidewalk.
"Yeah it's kind of a bummer,' Boyle said.  'Soulard is a nice town, a nice neighborhood.  We definitely don't need this in Soulard.  The people here are permanent residents, and they don't want to see this here at all."
The victim is a white male in his 30's.  Paramedics rushed him to a local hospital.  But, doctors there pronounced him dead.  St. Louis city police did not give a motive and did not have a suspect.
