The case of a missing Spanish Lake woman has gained the attention of a national organization that's trying to help the family in the search. The family of Phoenix Coldon, 23, is still searching for answers about her disappearance. They’ve created this Facebook page with the hopes that someone will give information that will help them find her.

December 18, 2011, is a day that Goldia Coldon plays over and over in her mind. It’s the day her 23 year old daughter Phoenix went missing. The Christmas tree they planned to decorate still stands in the living room.

Coldon says it was a normal Sunday for her family. They went to church did some shopping. The UMSL student left in her black 1998 Chevy Blazer around 3 p.m. and hasn't been seen since. Her car was found with the engine running at 9th Street and St. Clair Avenue in East St. Louis; her phone and bank activity stopped.

The Black and Missing Foundation is helping the Coldon family with their search. CEO Derrica Wilson says they are giving the family the tools needed to get the word out.

Now this mother is left holding on to pictures and possessions of her only child. She's also holding on to hope that Phoenix will somehow make her way back home. The family is also in the process of trying to hire a private investigator to help find Phoenix.
