There are serious forms of discrimination and then there's what I'm going to talk about. It's called coupon discrimination. It's when the waiter, waitress or restaurant owner groans when you take out that buy one get one entree free coupon.

I recently used one of those Groupon deals and was greeted with less than a smile.

I once talked with a restaurant owner who explained that St. Louisans love coupons.

He said it was so frustrating to him that it took a $1 off coupon to get some customers through his door. He said he could just lower his prices but that wouldn't work. He said some customers just feel like it's not a bargain unless they have a coupon in their hands.

So don't hate us for wanting a bargain. Who knows, with the money we save we might even order dessert.

I'm JB and that's The Way It Oughta Be.
