He called it a magic trick, but for one jilted bride-to-be, there was nothing magical about it. Now detectives want to talk to the man they say stole an engagement ring from his fiancé.

Authorities in High Ridge, Missouri say the groom-to-be asked his girlfriend if he could see the engagement ring he had given her so he could show her a magic trick.  That’s when the victim says she handed him the ring and he ran off.  It happened around 5:00 a.m. Wednesday and the suspect hasn’t been seen since.

The ring is reportedly a 2 karat diamond gold engagement ring valued at $5,000.  Police are still searching for the run-away groom.
