A shortage in the Dellwood Police Department prompts St. Louis County to step up and help out. Two County police officers will fill in Tuesday to fill the void.  The patrols begin Tuesday morning. Sources say Dellwood officers are not scheduled to take over until this afternoon.

In recent weeks, the Dellwood City Council has been locked in controversy over whether to let St. Louis County take over law-enforcement in the small town. Things are gotten so contentious that some council members have refused to attend meetings, not leaving enough council members to vote.

They have since been ordered to attend. Staff has been short at the Dellwood Police Department. it is not clear whether there insufficient manpower brought out St. Louis County Police or if patrols are actually a permanent switch.
