ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – The snow-making machines at Hidden Valley Ski Resort have been going for 24 hours now and the crew is in love with this cold weather as it gears up for a busy weekend.
The shelves are stocked with boots and lined with rows of skis as management readies to open Hidden Valley this Saturday, four weeks before they opened last year.
General manager Fred Seymour says the season is already off to a great start because the weather is perfect for snow-making.
“Something below 29 degrees and as low humidity as possible, we can produce more snow with low humidity, which we have had all day today,” he says. “So we have really been able to put out a lot of snow.”
They are hoping to open at 9 a.m. on Saturday but it is best to check their website that day to be sure.
