ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - Police are still investigating that case involving two shootings. One of the shootings ended with the death of a 43-year-old woman.

At around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, officers with the St. Louis County Police Department were called to a shooting at the 10400 block of Baron drive. A 17-year old boy was shot in the foot in the Castle Point neighborhood.

Less than an hour later, 43-year-old Patricia Pendelton was shot and killed at the front of her home 5 blocks away at the 10400 block of Royal Drive. Police say Pendelton was an innocent victim of retaliation. She may be related to the intended target.

Police are still trying to determine how many people are involved and what their roles were in the shooting. We are also told the Castle Point area is one of the neighborhoods where possible "Shot Spotter" technology could be used in the future. If approved, the "Shot Spotter" could be up and running in the area by next spring.
