St. Charles County officers narrowly escape being injured in accident on I-70

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO (KPLR) – Friday night law enforcement officers from O’Fallon Missouri and St. Charles County narrowly escaped being seriously injured by a suspected drunk driver on I-70 just west of Woodlawn Avenue.

The incident happened at 10:15 pm, when 28-year-old Dustin A. Sentman of Wentzville, Missouri struck the rear of an O’Fallon Mo police cruiser, causing chain reaction accident in the left lane of westbound I-70.  The cruiser was pushed into the rear of a St. Charles County cruiser that then struck a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe.

All three vehicles were unoccupied at the time.

The O’Fallon officer was assisting a St. Charles County officer with a traffic stop at the time of the accident.

The suspect was seriously injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.
