Police and firefighters face-off in softball benefit for Officer Flamion

flamion-benefitELLISVILLE, MO (KPLR) – 38 teams of firefighters and police officers squared off to raise money for Officer Mike Flamion Sunday.  The event, Hits for Heroes is an all-day softball tournament in Ellisville.

Officials with Ellisville and Pond Athletic Associations hosted the fundraiser.

Organizers hoped to raise $10,000, but say they already surpassed that amount.

Officer Flamion was paralyzed July 8th when he was shot in the neck after a routine traffic stop.
