O’Fallon man sentenced on heroin charges
EAST ST. LOUIS, IL (KPLR) – A 43-year-old O’Fallon, Illinois man was sentenced Thursday to more than five years in federal prison for participating in a plan to transport and distribute heroin in the St. Louis area, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois Donald Boyce said.
A grand jury indicted Alfred Reeves Jr. in December 2015, along with two co-defendants: 52-year-old Lacy Snead of Chicago and 29-year-old Ciera McNeil of East St. Louis.
The crimes took place March 2013, according to the indictment. Reeves sold heroin to a confidential informant on that date and continued to be involved in heroin distribution. The indictment further claimed that Reeves, Snead, and McNeil traveled from Chicago to St. Louis in June 2015 with 150 grams of heroin (approximately 5.29 ounces).
McNeil was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison on October 11. Snead will be sentenced in March 2017.
