Circuit attorney’s office opposes change of venue in Stockley case

(KPLR) – The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office is opposing a change of venue for former St. Louis police officer Jason Stockley’s murder case.

Stockley is charged with killing Anthony Lamar Smith during a police chase in December of 2011.

Stockley claims Smith pointed a gun at him.

His attorneys claim that a change is needed after the release of a dash cam video to the media and that it could affect proceedings in the city.
