Law enforcement officers heading out help those in need from Hurricane Matthew

coast-guard(KPLR) – Relief is on the way to areas hardest hit by Hurricane Matthew from the St. Louis Metro Area.

A group of about 16 US Coast Guard reservists from the region took off Saturday hauling a trailer full of construction equipment and roofing supplies.

One is a St. Louis County Police Officer, Officer Schlueter and the other, a new deputy with the Montgomery County Sherriff’s Department. Deputy Levinson was called away before his first day on the job.

We wish them safe travels, and hope to update you on their mission.
