ST. LOUIS – Illness has caused the band Green Day to postpone the first three dates of its upcoming club tour, including Tuesday night’s show at the Pageant in St. Louis. The band announced the news on its website Sunday.

Concerts will be rescheduled in St. Louis, Chicago and Detroit. A fourth concert in Toronto is being canceled.

“We’re so sad to announce we have to postpone three shows and cancel Toronto,” said the band. “Many of us have been battling this infection for days on end to be ready, and it just got the best of us,” said a statement on the band’s website.

Tickets for the September 20 concert at the Pageant were sold out. St. Louis was to be the first stop on the new Green Day tour.
