ST. LOUIS (KPLR – Thousands started Saturday by packing into Downtown St. Louis for the Beyoncé Formation World Tour Concert and the Cardinals game at Busch Stadium.
The Dome at America’s Center was the finish line in a slow journey for local Beyoncé fans. Anyone buying last-minute tickets found out early that getting to the concert would be more of a process than a quick trip. They packed their positive attitudes and a plan.
“I sat there maybe 20 minutes,” said Shanika Simmons. “But I knew I was right there by the building.”
“I’m going to Uber here,” said Antone Pratt. “Leave my car at home.”
“Me?” said friend Johnathan DeShay. “I’m parking anywhere, park right up on the sidewalk.”
A special group of local fans would also be at the Dome early. Students and teachers with the Show Me Arts Academy scored a meet-and-greet with Queen Bey. They will get in the dome with plenty of time to see the start of the show. The group has performed on FOX2 News at 9AM. Singers and dancers shared details of their world tour and community service with Shirley Washington on “The Pulse of St. Louis” News 11.
MetroLink was still there to help fans avoid the massive amounts of cars that promised to keep St. Louis Metropolitan Police Busy. Simmons wore really high heels to pick up her tickets. She planned to avoid excessive pain by catching a ride to the concert. The drop off area is the West Lane of Broadway with no vehicle parking or standing allowed.
