Body pulled from Mississippi River in south city

ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – St. Louis police recovered the body of a man from the Mississippi River on Wednesday.

The victim, an African-American man in his 40s, was pulled from the river just after 8:45 a.m. near Chouteau.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene to begin an investigation on not only the cause of death, but to determine how the individual ended up in the river.
