Shocking video shows moments after Ferguson protester hit by car; shots fired

FERGUSON, MO (KPLR) - Shots were fired Tuesday evening after a driver struck a protester at an event commemorating the two-year anniversary of the shooting death of Michael Brown.

According to Jeff Small, a Ferguson city spokesman, said the protester was standing in the roadway and the driver did not appear to intentionally target the person. The driver is cooperating with police.

Witnesses said the shots were fired shortly after the protester was struck. Investigators do not believe any one was hit by the gunfire.

Other people at the scene took the protester to a local hospital for treatment.

The day was marked with peaceful protests until that incident.
