AB InBev works out details of merger with SABMiller

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- New details are being revealed this morning about the mega merger between AB InBev and SABMiller. The news is good for St. Louis.

The new information from AB InBev focuses on the company structure after the SABMiller deal is done.

A release from AB InBev says that when AB InBev and SABMiller combine, the group will be organized into nine geographical zones. The North American zone comprised of the U.S. and Canada will be headquartered in St. Louis.

St. Louis has been the North American headquarters for AB InBev ever since the original InBev buyout happened...and it appears the Gateway City will remain a headquarters going forward. The other zones in the combined AB InBev SABMiller company include Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific and Africa.
SABMiller`s current hubs in Miami, Hong Kong and Beijing will be phased out.

The new company will have its main headquarters in Belgium with a global management office in New York. AB InBev increased its cash offer to buy SABMiller after the value of the pound dropped when the U.K. voted to leave the European Union last month.

The new price is $105 billion.

SABMiller`s board approved the offer last Friday. The deal is expected to be finalized on October 10th.
