NORTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KPLR) - If you drive on West Florissant between Solway and Dellwood Park, don't be surprised to find a work of art on the traffic signal boxes dotting the street. Young people from Strength and Honor and Girls Inc mentoring programs are painting the signal boxes to signal hope in the Ferguson community. The boxes house the electrical equipment that controls the signal lights. They are painted with tree branches, birds and positive words like hope, joy, faith, family and believe. The art is part of a community service project designed to encourage everyone who sees it to do something to better the community and keep moving it forward.
