Guilty plea entered in fatal accident that killed Wood River couple

JEFFREY RYNDERSEDWARDSVILLE, IL (KTVI) – 28-year-old Jeffery A. Rynders plead guilty to 2 counts of aggravated DUI that resulted in the death of a Wood River couple.

Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Gibbons announced the deal Monday for the 2013 fatal accident that took the lives of Gary L. Wright, 66, and Lora Wright, 63.

Alton police say Rynders struck the Wright’s motorcycle after failing to yield  while making a left turn on Landmarks Boulevard near the Clark Bridge.

Currently Rynders is being held at the Madison County Jail.

He’s facing a prison term of 6-20 years, of which he will have to serve 85-percent of his sentence.

A sentencing date has not been set yet.
