OVERLAND, MO (KPLR) - The Major Case Squad has announced the arrest of a suspect in the Saturday morning shooting that left one man dead in Overland.

An arrest warrant was issued Sunday for Ricardo Cueto of St. Ann Missouri that charges him with murder in the first degree and armed criminal action.

Cueto was taken into custody with a handgun in a room at the Red Roof Inn in Springfield IL on Singer Avenue.

Currently Cueto is being questioned by authorities

The fatal shooting happened in the 2400 block of Leslie Avenue around 4 am.

The victim’s family said the victim was 26-year-old Mussie Ogbai Gebregziabher.

Police had part of Leslie Avenue blocked off and extra crime scene tape around one house where they were focusing their investigating.

The victim’s cousin said a friend of a friend lives in the house where police are investigating.

Police say the victim was found deceased on the ground in front of the residence with multiple gunshot wounds.

The cousins said the victim was hanging out at the home, and then decided to walk up the street to a bar on Lackland.

The victim’s cousins do not know what happened from there but they are guessing an altercation happened at the bar and someone followed the victim back to the house.

Neighbors said they heard motorcycles and shots around 2:30- 3:00 am.

Cueto is being held on a $500,000 bond, awaiting extradition back to St. Louis County.
