St. Louis boxers and trainers pay homage to Muhammad Ali

(KPLR) – Legendary boxer Muhammad Ali died last Friday night.  The world-class athlete had world-wide reach.

Muhammad Ali's impact went far beyond the boxing ring and his impact extended to a St. Charles boxing club.

Muhammad Ali’s death hit particularly hard for St. Louis boxing trainer Kevin Cunningham and 3 times World Champion Devon Alexander

Devon says he really looked up to Ali.

Kevin Cunningham has trained over 60 fighters and won 10 world titles and some of the greatest boxers have come out of St. Louis including Devon Alexander

Cunningham says Ali is the greatest boxer that ever stepped into the ring.

The pair say Ali represented so much more than boxing, Kevin says as a trainer he took lessons from Ali and it's something he will always be thankful for.

Both Kevin and Devon say they will always remember their idol Muhammad Ali and it's no secret Ali made an impact on generations of Americans.
