Fire causing evacuation at Cahokia nursing home

CAHOKIA, MO (KPLR) - A nursing home has been evacuated because of a fire at around 4:30pm Tuesday. Multiple emergency agencies are on the scene at Cahokia Nursing and Rehab.  There are reports of multiple people being treated for smoke inhalation.  Many residents are waiting in the grass outside the home.

Multiple EMS units are working the scene. Camp Jackson, Dupo, and Prairie du Pont Fire Departments responding mutual aid.  Metro buses are being called in to assist with the evacuation.

It is not clear what started the fire.
