(KPLR) – Washington University paid tribute to Congressman John Lewis during the graduation ceremony for the class of 2016. The university honored the iconic Civil Rights leader with the Doctor of Humane Letters honorary degree for being one of the most inspirational and influential leaders of all time. Lewis led several protests in Selma, Alabama which lead to some of the most significant pieces of legislation in the history of America.
