PONTOON BEACH, IL (KTVI) – Two Illinois state parks will reopen after a local radio host footed the bill to cover unpaid electric bills.

Bob Romanik donated $3,200 to allow Horseshoe Lake and Ramsey Lake state parks to reopen.

The parks had been closed because the state budget crisis led to unpaid electrical and trash bills.

In the interest of full disclosure, Romanik is also a candidate for state representative.
