(KPLR) – It’s prom season and a Lebanon, Illinois woman wants to make sure no teenage girl is left out of the high school experience even if their family is struggling to make ends meet.

For about 3-years Brandi Suydam has made it her mission to help high school girls go to prom in style and under budget.  Her friend Melissa Muskopf nominated Brandi for the Pay It Forward award. Here`s what happened when Melissa showed up at Brandi`s home with the surprise.

Despite her own health problems and several surgeries Brandi started her own charity called Fairy Godmothers. She has collected about 500 donated dresses. She works with local high schools to find students who can`t afford a prom dress.

For just $10 teenage girls can get a prom dress, shoes, purse and jewelry. Brandi gives money to high schools to help pay for proms. And each prom season she pays for one girl to have a day at the salon.
