SUNSET HILLS, MO (KPLR) – When Linda McLaughlin went missing, her friends and neighbors held several vigils and made pleas to help find her.

Signs posted after Linda McLaughlin’s disappearance are still in neighbors front yards. They either haven`t had time to remove them or they are there to memorialize their friend.

Every month residents here would hold a candlelight vigil for Linda. It was held on the first of each month after she disappeared on June 1st.

As time went on, the attendance was not as strong; but there doesn`t seem to be a great deal of surprise that the case ended this way or that the husband has been charged.

Still, some people held hope, however small that maybe just maybe she`s would return okay.

Now there’s just grief.

Linda Dickmann/Victim`s Friend says: I`m just glad it`s all over I`m just glad they finally found her remains and they can put her to rest and the family can get some closure.

Lynne Mosier/Victim`s Friend says: I`m just devastated we have lost Linda and it`s now final, we won`t have her anymore.

Some neighbors plan to attend the murder trial. They FOX 2 they are very grateful for the work done by both the Sunset Hills and St. Louis County Police.
