FRANKLIN COUNTY, MO (KPLR)- The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department along with the Pacific Fire Protection District are on the scene of a house explosion.  The explosion occurred around 7:30 pm near State Road HH and Oak Ridge Road.

Sheriff Gary Toelke says the walls of the home were blown out, making the home unlivable.  He further stated that a couple of people were seen leaving the area, but have not been located.

Officers on scene have found evidence of Tannerite, which is a binary explosive marketed for making exploding targets for firearms practice.

Sheriff Toelke says Bomb and Arson from the Franklin County Prosecutors Office will be taking over the investigation, and that The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has been called as a precaution.

Just before 10 pm a suspect was taken into custody by authorities.  The arrest is related to the house explosion that occurred Sunday night and the explosive material found in the house.
