Voter turnout expected to be higher than normal for MO & IL Primaries

ST. LOUIS (KPLR) - As voters head to the polls in St. Louis city and county, election officials are monitoring precincts all across the area for problems.  So far no major issues have occurred; but officials say they’re ready for any emergency.

Voter turnout has been steady all -day at a lot of polls.  Election officials in St. Louis city are expecting around a 45-percent turnout, while in St. Louis County the turnout is expected to be around 43-percent.  Statewide a 34-percent turnout is expected out of 4 million eligible voters.
