CLAYTON, MO (KPLR) - Police are looking for a man who broke into a Washington University frat house and stole items from students.

The Washington University Police Department website reports the burglary occurred Saturday afternoon during the sunny warm weather, while students were out enjoying the sunshine.  It appears the thief got in through a window at the Kappa Sigma house on Snow Way at about 2:30 pm in the afternoon, and may have spent sometime in the house going from room to room stealing computers, cash and phones.  All the items were valued at more than $5,000.

The university says a resident in the house reported seeing an unknown black male in the house at that time. Students say crime is rare on the Washington University campus.

A university spokesperson says no one from the campus police department would be available for an interview since the investigation is ongoing.
