Second Little Caesar’s robbed in Metro East in less than a week

GLEN CARBON, IL (KPLR) - For the second time in less than a week, a Little Caesar's in the metro east is robbed at gunpoint.The latest incident happened on Route 159 in Glen Carbon.

The robbery happened shortly before 9p.m. Sunday. Investigators say the suspect came in, pulled out a handgun and demanded cash from the employees. They complied and the suspect took an unspecified amount of cash, running from the scene after the robbery.

The suspect is described as a heavy set African-American man, between 5'2" and 5'6" tall. He was wearing a black and white coat, dark colored pants and had a blue bandana covering his face.

The robbery here comes after another Little Caesar's was robbed last Thursday in Collinsville also at gunpoint.
That crime happened at Collinsville Crossing.

In that case, police say the suspect went into the store and ordered a pizza. As an employee came to the register, police say the man pulled a handgun and demanded money from the register and safe. The suspect stole cash then ran out of the store and got into either a light colored SUV or minivan and fled the scene.

The suspect in that case is described as an African-American male, 5'6" to 5'8" tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and a had purple bandana covering his face.

Fortunately, nobody was hurt in either case.

There is no official word on if the two cases might be related.
