WASHINGTON, MO (KPLR) - Washington Missouri police say they only see 5 robberies per year and a recent crime happened in the middle of a shopping plaza in the middle of the day.

Investigators say 17-year-old Justice Edwards was with two other male juveniles who met up with another teen at Washington Square on Saturday. The group got into a car with the victim then allegedly robbed and beat him. Police say Edwards was not the mastermind but was there as muscle. Meanwhile, family members say Edwards has a learning disability and was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time. The unnamed male victim was taken to Mercy Hospital with a broken nose, bruises and a busted lip. Edwards who just turned 17 in November is being held at the Franklin County Jail on a $50,000 cash only bond. The other teens are at the St. Charles Juvenile Detention Center. All three are facing first degree robbery charges.

Edwards has a court date set for this Thursday.
