Mandatory evacuation in effect in Valley Park; river projected to reach 40 feet

VALLEY PARK, MO (KPLR)- A mandatory evacuation is in effect Wednesday morning in Valley Park. The National Weather Service is projecting the river to reach 40 feet around 6:00 a.m.

A mandatory evacuation of the levee-protected lower end of Valley Park will be ordered between 7 and 10 a.m. All residents in the lower end will be notified to move to higher ground.

The evacuation will be lifted once the water recedes to safe levels.
