LAKEVILLE, MN (KMSP) – Two girls missing since 2013 have been found on a western Minnesota horse ranch. Gianna and Samantha Rucki, ages 17 and 16, disappeared during their parent’s bitter custody battle.

Police suspect that an underground support group has been helping to hide the girls. The White Horse Ranch’s website abruptly shut down shortly after the girls were found.

The family was the focus of a KMSP-TV investigation in 2013. The girls said their father physically and emotionally abused them. David Rucki accused their mother of turning the girls against him. Then the girls went missing.

The teen’s mother, Sandra Grazzini Rucki, denied knowing their whereabouts. Police didn’t believe her story and placed her under arrest in Florida last month. She was then extradited to Dakota County Minnesota and faces three felony counts of deprivation of parental rights.

Gianna and Samantha were found safe on Wednesday after police executed a search warrant. Police say sisters are heading to Dakota County to, “begin the unification process.”
