ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - The St. Louis area Muslim community is closely tracking the tragedy in Paris. Local leaders spoke out Saturday, condemning the killings in Paris and calling them horrific.

In a news conference, the leaders expressed solidarity with the French and said their thoughts and prayers go out to the families of those killed and injured and also to the people of France.

They also said the heart wrenching details from Paris may make many people feel helpless, but they believe strength will come by standing together to fight terrorism.

The Muslim Council of Greater St. Louis says they stand firmly with the world to denounce this cowardly act on humanity and the terrorists all over the world do not represent any faith or nation.
