ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR)- Teaching girls confidence and the importance of physical fitness, that’s the goal of Girls on the Run. The non-profit organization is for girls in grades 3-8 and uses a running curriculum to develop and enhance girls’ social, psychological, and physical skills.

The 20-lesson Girls on the Run curriculum combines training for a 5k (3.1 miles) run with lessons that inspire girls to become independent thinkers and enhance their problem solving skills.

The 2015 Girls on the Run 5K will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, in downtown St. Louis. The 1 Mile Fun Run begins at 8:00am and the 5k Run start at 8:30am.  Day-of registration is $35.00.  You can still register for the run here.
