O’Fallon man charged for domestic assault, shooting

O’FALLON, MO (KPLR) – The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged a 21-year-old O’Fallon man in connection with a drive-by shooting and domestic assault that occurred earlier this year.

According to Col. Roy Joachimstaler, O’Fallon Chief of Police, the shooting took place May 6 around 12:55 a.m. in the 1300 block of Apple Valley Drive.

When officers responded, they were greeted by four people who said they were inside an open garage when a vehicle pulled up at the curb and an individual exited the car and fired shots. Police recovered spent shell casings at the scene. No one was injured in the shooting.

On May 27, a woman came to the O’Fallon Police Department headquarters to report a domestic assault. She said the assault occurred May 25 in a residence on O’Fallon Lakes Drive.

Joachimstaler said the woman told detectives she was punched in the face several times and choked her.

In both cases, the victims identified the suspect as D’Shawn Keller.

O’Fallon police located and arrested Keller on Saturday, October 24 in the 7900 block of Holly Oak Court.

Prosecutors charged Keller with two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of armed criminal action, and second-degree domestic assault.
