ST. LOUIS (KPLR) - Some of the best days of fall foliage across the bi-state are among us.

The peak of foliage has begun and should continue locally next week. Experts say that while the current dry pattern may have influenced some trees to lose leaves early, many trees aren't as impacted.

Foresters with the Missouri Department of Conservation report that many trees had already begun changing before the dry spell of autumn hit. The department is helping local residents keep track of the season's best colors on their user friendly smart phone app Missouri Fall Colors. The free app provides the latest foliage forecast for the region.
