Four charged for stealing cars, guns in Kirkwood

KIRKWOOD, MO (KPLR)- The St. Louis County Prosecutor’s Office has officially charged four teenagers with various felonies crimes related to thefts of vehicles and handguns in Kirkwood.  The thefts occurred during a three-week span from late July through mid-August.  A fifth suspect arrested was not charged.

Police  arrested one of the men back on August 13th while he was in a stolen car from Kirkwood. Their follow-up investigation identified four other suspects in thefts from 200 vehicles. None of the 200 vehicles were broken into because all of the cars were simply left unlocked. They believe the suspects are also responsible for stealing 15 cars.

Patrick Peete, 18, of St. Louis, is charged with 5 counts of stealing a motor vehicle and 4 counts of theft of a firearm. Jared Johnson, 17, of Kirkwood, is charged with 3 counts of stealing a motor vehicle and 3 counts of theft of a firearm. Edward Johsnon , 17, of Kirkwood, is charged with  2 counts of theft of a firearm.  Devonta Holmes, 19, of Kirkwood is charged with  1 counts of stealing a motor vehicle.
