ST. LOUIS (KPLR) - A 14-year-old girl was molested Saturday night after her attacker took the victim from the Union Station MetroLink Stop, according to police and prosecutors.

31-year-old Montez Lamarr Haines is charged with child enticement, a felony, and two misdemeanor counts of second degree child molestation.   The attack happened Saturday night.  Police responded to a call for a suspicious person.  They found Haines in an alley a few blocks north of the MetroLink Stop.

Court documents indicate Haines offered to give the girl a ride, took her by the wrist and then led her to the alley.  Police say the man promised the girl $200 if she would perform a sex act.  She refused.  Police say the man groped the girl and rubbed up against her.

“That is sick,” said MetroLink passenger Kevin Rucker.  He hopes the arrest will send a message to anyone else thinking about committing a similar crime.

“They’ll probably think twice you because you know you’re going to get caught,” said Rucker.

MetroLink officials deferred any comments on the case to police.  A spokesperson for Metro said the agency’s Public Safety officers would will assist with the investigation as requested.
