Nearly 600 infants die every year in St. Louis city and county

(KPLR) - Research shows about 600 infants in Missouri die each year during the first year of their precious lives. Kendra Copanas, Executive Director of The Maternal Child and Family Health Coalition says, infant death rates in parts of St. Louis City and County are worse than some third-world countries. "The number of babies we lose each year could have made up 15 kindergarten classrooms," Companas said.
