Sometimes you need a solo bike ride to clear your head, appreciate the neighborhood, and get some good thinking done. And sometimes you need to join thousands of your friends, neighbors and other two-wheeled enthusiasts for a leisurely midnight pedaling fun-fest. Saturday night, the Moonlight Ramble rolls off at 12:01 a.m. (August 30) and you can choose to pedal either the 10.5 or 18.5 mile course. The first Moonlight Ramble was held in 1964 and the event has grown into a rollicking cycling street party for helmeted people of all ages. If you want to ramble along, visit www.moonlightramble.com to learn more. Cost to participate ranges from $10-$25.

The Festival of Nations is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
