(KPLR) – Starting Sunday, a piece of history that you won’t find in a book will open to the public at Cahokia Mounds. Visitors will be able to check out a 700 year old canoe that’s part of a new exhibit titled Wetlands and Waterways: The Key to Cahokia.

The ancient canoe was recovered along the St. Francis River and was recently moved to Cahokia Mounds for the exhibit.
