FERGUSON, MO (KPLR) – Two people were shot at the Canfield Apartment complex early Monday morning, the same apartment complex where Michael Brown was shot and killed by a Ferguson police officer just one year ago.

According to Officer Shawn McGuire, a spokesman for the St. Louis County Police Department, the shooting happened at 2:15 a.m.

Ferguson police responded to a shooting at the apartment complex and found two male victims, ages 17 and 19.

The victims told investigators they were walking on the sidewalk near the Michael Brown memorial when a vehicle drove by and a male in a red-hooded sweatshirt started shooting at them from the rear passenger side of that car.

McGuire said the 17-year-old was struck in the chest/shoulder area and the 19-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. Both victims were rushed to a local hospital and are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact the St. Louis County Police Department or CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS.
