ST. PETERS (KPLR) – Walmart is opening two new, smaller sized stores in St. Peters in early 2016, the retail giant announced Tuesday.

The Neighborhood Market stores will be located at 45 Sutters Mill Road and 3031 Mid Rivers Mall Drive. They’re approximately 41,000 square-feet, less than one-fourth the size of an average Walmart Supercenter, which averages about 182,000 square-feet.

The stores will feature organic selections, a deli and bakery, prepared meals, baby and pet supplies, as well as household goods.

Each new neighborhood store will hire approximately 100 associates.

Walmart operates more than 640 Neighborhood Market stores nationwide.
