Police: Father maced as four-year-old daughter taken by mother

MOLINE ACRES, MO (KPLR) – Police in Moline Acres are asking for the public’s help in locating a four-year-old girl who was taken from her father’s vehicle in broad daylight on Thursday. The person suspected of taking the child? Her mother.

According to police, the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of Chambers Road.

The child, identified as Jailynn Keen, was inside a car with her father parked at a residence. When Keen’s father got out of the car, he was maced by a woman while the child’s mother, 25-year-old Shaunita Charles, took Keen.

Charles, Keen, and the woman with the mace, identified as 50-year-old Devette Coleman, fled the scene in a 2001 black Buick Regal with Missouri license plates DL3W6W.

Shaunita Charles was described as an African-American woman, standing 5’7” and weighing 175 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Police described Devette Coleman as an African-American woman, standing 5’6” and weighing 180 pounds, with brown eyes.
